2025 Easter Edition of Teens' Table at NRCF:

Celebrating Creativity and Courage:

A Day of Fun, Expression, and Purpose

This Easter, the air at Ngong Road Children’s Foundation (NRCF) was filled with energy, excitement, and empowerment as teens from NRCF, Mathare Hope Achievers, and Mukuru Acrobatics came together for a day to remember. The 2025 Easter Edition of The Teens Table was more than just an event—it was a vibrant celebration of talent, culture, and community spirit.

Soccer Tournament

From the get-go, the atmosphere buzzed with anticipation as young people gathered not just to compete but to connect and uplift one another. The day kicked off with a spirited soccer tournament, where teams battled it out on the pitch, showcasing teamwork, sportsmanship, and sheer determination. The cheers from the sidelines echoed the shared joy of being part of something bigger than themselves.

The Talent Show

Following the thrilling matches, the spotlight shifted to the Talent Show—a breathtaking display of passion and creativity. Performances ranged from electrifying acrobatics and contemporary dance routines to elegant traditional dances, taekwondo demonstrations, and captivating modelling walks. Each act stood as a testament to the immense talent thriving within Nairobi’s informal settlements—talent often hidden but now fully and proudly on display.

Mentorship Beyond the Stage

But The Teens Table wasn’t just about entertainment; it was about empowerment. The event featured transformative mentorship sessions designed to educate and inspire. One standout session was led by LadyAskari, a female-orientated security firm, who delivered an engaging talk on Gender-Based Violence (GBV). Their message on safety, respect, and assertiveness sparked important conversations among both girls and boys.

Another vital session was led by the Give Her Confidence Organisation, which addressed menstrual hygiene management—a topic often overlooked but crucial to the well-being and dignity of young girls. The session culminated in the heartfelt distribution of sanitary pads to 70 girls, reminding everyone that true support means meeting real, everyday needs.

Unity in Diversity

The Easter Edition beautifully illustrated the power of unity across different communities. NRCF teens collaborated and bonded with peers from Mathare and Mukuru, breaking down barriers and building bridges through shared experiences. Whether on stage, on the field, or in mentoring circles, the day reflected the resilience, hope, and strength of Nairobi’s teens.
